PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES
Guidelines for taking photos that are suitable for use in marketing materials.
- Good Lighting: Adequate lighting is crucial for clear and well-exposed photos. When shooting indoors, use natural light from windows. For outdoor shots, take advantage of natural daylight, especially during the golden hours (early morning or late afternoon) for softer, warmer lighting.
- Clean Background: A clutter-free background can make the product stand out. Use a plain, neutral background or a setting that complements the product's style. For outdoor shots, be mindful of distracting elements.
- Angle and Perspective: Experiment with different angles and perspectives to highlight the product's features. A variety of shots, including close-ups and wider angles, would be useful.
- Composition: Follow the rule of thirds to create balanced and visually appealing images. Position the product off-center for a more dynamic look. Pay attention to the framing and ensure there's no unnecessary empty space around the product.
- Focus: Use the autofocus feature on your camera or smartphone to ensure the product is in sharp focus. Tap on the product screen to select the focal point if needed.
- White Balance: Adjust the white balance settings to match the lighting conditions. This helps to ensure accurate colour representation.
