The Brief
East Riverside is a residential-led mixed-use scheme on the banks of Bow Creek, comprising three curved, varied-height towers set behind the retained arches of the old Tram Depot. With multiple risers running throughout the towers, the project called for a GRP partner that could be relied on for accuracy and reliability, along with the technical input to make sure every riser void was correctly accounted for.
The Solution
Blue Diamond worked closely with the project team through a significant volume of drawing work, checking and coordinating riser layouts floor by floor to make sure our GridGuard solution would fit first time across all three towers. Given the scale and repetition involved, getting this right on paper was essential to keeping the programme moving.
Part way through, some queries were raised on site around how certain riser voids had been detailed, so we paid East Riverside a visit in person to walk the floors, clear up the confusion directly with the team, and confirm the fix.
The client has been delighted with the outcome, and it's been a pleasure supporting a scheme that will bring hundreds of new homes to the riverside in Poplar.
